Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike Blow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kendrik Down (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blow comes to the cage accompanied by Slippin. Mike Blow has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mike Blow! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kendrik Down! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blow staying out of range there. Blow shoots in and bounces Down off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Blow throwing strikes but missing. Blow trying to control but Down is working from the bottom. Blow stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Down swivels though and keeps the full guard. Blow throwing strikes from guard but Down blocks nicely. Blow distracts Down with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Down is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Down tries to land a sweep but no joy. Blow works a leg free and moves into half guard. Down wants to get back to full guard. Down avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Blow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blow is pressing down on Down's thigh, looking to free his foot. Down is holding on for now. Down is defending against the submission attempts here by Blow.
Down is not content to let Blow control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blow is working for an americana but Down has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Blow was thinking about the submission. Blow tries to free his leg and advance position but Down is retaining full guard. Down trying to keep a closed guard but Blow is proving a slippery customer.
Blow won't allow Down to sweep him here. Blow makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Down really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Blow is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Down is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Down has escaped and now he's on top! Down throws a big elbow that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Down stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Blow has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Down manages to get his head free but now Blow has transitioned to an armbar! Down grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Blow! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mike Blow! Mike Blow retains his lightweight title! A very excited looking Mike Blow made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
