Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Emunn Samvesu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Suriya Pinphet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Emunn Samvesu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Suriya Pinphet! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Samvesu shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pinphet sprawls well. Pinphet wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Samvesu gets slowly back to his feet. Emunn Samvesu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Samvesu shoots in for a double leg but Pinphet sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Samvesu throws a head kick but Pinphet moves out of range.
Samvesu shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pinphet is trying to defend but Samvesu finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Pinphet is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Samvesu is stalling here. Pinphet is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Samvesu seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Pinphet has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Pinphet in side control lands a decent elbow. Pinphet throwing shots but missing, from side control. Samvesu on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pinphet wants to control but Samvesu is keeping him busy. Pinphet tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pinphet has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Samvesu is looking to reverse the position. Pinphet looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Pinphet decides to stand back up. Samvesu looks to score with a jab to the body but Pinphet is just out of range. A jab from Pinphet misses. A big right from Pinphet misses. Pinphet lands an overhand right. Samvesu shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pinphet as he avoids it easily. Samvesu has been working on his balance at The Cave Fighting Team, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Pinphet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Emunn Samvesu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pinphet blocks a head kick by Samvesu.

Samvesu fails to land the takedown. Samvesu shoots in and drives through. Pinphet sprawls well. This has been an exciting period of action! Pinphet throws a sloppy head kick and Samvesu moves out of range easily. Samvesu shoots in but Pinphet avoids the takedown attempt easily. No luck for Samvesu with that takedown attempt. Samvesu looks for a takedown but Pinphet sprawls well. Pinphet slips under a jab from Samvesu. Samvesu tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Pinphet defends well and Samvesu ends up having to push Pinphet into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. That's three minutes gone in the round. Pinphet with a knee to the head.
Still in the clinch, Pinphet scores with a nice short uppercut. Pinphet working Samvesu over with knees to the body. Samvesu is breathing heavily. Samvesu has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pinphet avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Pinphet lands an elbow inside that Samvesu shrugs off. Samvesu can't get the takedown.

Pinphet breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pinphet connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Samvesu's hands. Pinphet fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Samvesu on the side of the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pinphet circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pinphet connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Samvesu shoots in for a takedown but Pinphet shows good takedown defense. Pinphet is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Pinphet scores with a kick to the body.
Pinphet stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pinphet wants it to stay on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pinphet scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Samvesu on the wrong end of a nice jab. Pinphet scores with the left hand. Samvesu knows he should have avoided that one.
Samvesu is rocked! Pinphet scores with the left hand. Samvesu knows he should have avoided that one. Oh Samvesu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! BAM! Pinphet delivers a spinning backfist that drops Samvesu like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). Suriya Pinphet! Suriya Pinphet spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
