Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Spishak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitali Kersikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spishak comes to the cage accompanied by Sleeping with Sirens. Kersikov comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Dj Nosferatu - When Angels Cry kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kersikov staying out of range there. Spishak blocks a low kick nicely. Spishak throws a hook but Kersikov blocks it. Spishak is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kersikov. Kersikov lands a nice leg kick that just misses Spishak's sensitive parts. Spishak blocks a jab. We've been hearing reports that Spishak has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Kersikov walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Spishak will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Spishak goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Spishak throws a combination that misses and Kersikov counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Spishak looks to score with a jab to the body but Kersikov is just out of range. Spishak lands with a hook. Kersikov tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Kersikov keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Spishak lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kersikov circles away quickly and effectively. Kersikov misses with a leg kick and Spishak counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kersikov's guard now. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Kersikov has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Kersikov wants to control the position but Spishak says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Kersikov is refusing to be controlled, as Spishak sits in half guard. Kersikov wants to improve his position but Spishak is controlling well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kersikov regains full guard. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Vitali Kersikov will probably get the nod - 10:9. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Kersikov punishes Spishak's body with a nice straight punch. Vitali Kersikov seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kersikov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Spishak throws a hook but Kersikov blocks it. Kersikov does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Kersikov throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Spishak stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kersikov scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Spishak doesn't seem bothered though.

Kersikov cracks Spishak with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Spishak looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Kersikov finish him?
