Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Grayson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Rabilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Richard Grayson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tim Rabilla!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Colin Fray and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grayson tries to close the distance and clinch but Rabilla swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Grayson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rabilla.
Rabilla connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Grayson momentarily.


It looks like Richard Grayson has been cut.
Grayson tries to clinch up but Rabilla circles away and keeps his distance.
Grayson dives in for a single leg takedown but Rabilla sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Grayson wants a takedown but no success here.
Rabilla is pushing Grayson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
The crowd are getting on Rabilla's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Grayson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Rabilla wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Rabilla successfully pulls guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Rabilla wants to stand but Grayson is controlling the position.
Grayson with a flurry of punches that miss.
Grayson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Grayson stops Rabilla from standing up.
Grayson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Grayson passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Rabilla should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Rabilla wants to control but Grayson postures up.

Rabilla tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Rabilla wants to control but Grayson is having none of it.
Rabilla can't escape the position.
Grayson has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Rabilla's face.
Rabilla is trying desperately to improve position.
Grayson landing strikes from the mount and Rabilla is in trouble!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Grayson breaks from Rabilla's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Grayson scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Rabilla?
Rabilla really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grayson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Grayson lands with some strikes.
Grayson controlling his opponent.
Rabilla is trying to escape the mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grayson lands a couple of good shots and Rabilla has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rabilla is trying to break free.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Grayson is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Rabilla with him. Rabilla is trying to defend but Grayson has an arm under the chin now! Rabilla grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Richard Grayson!
