Sanders comes to the cage accompanied by Freddie Gibbs - Still Livin'. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Angelo Baptista enters the cage!

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rod Sanders! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Angelo Baptista! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sanders tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Baptista swivels and escapes. We've been hearing reports that Sanders has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Sanders turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Baptista lands a nice looking kick to the body. Sanders takes a step back to recover. We've been informed that Baptista has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Sanders takes a head kick and keeps coming.
It looks like Rod Sanders has been cut. Sanders throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Baptista connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sanders lands with a slapping head kick. Sanders lands a high kick!
Sanders throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Baptista throws a big shot that misses. Baptista feints a jab promting Sanders to slip. Baptista then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Sanders slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Sanders looks for the body kick but Baptista saw that one coming. A looping hook to the body misses from Baptista. Sanders does a little dance to reset his feet.

Baptista throws a looping overhand right but Sanders ducks down to avoid it. Baptista takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sanders shoots in looking for a takedown. Baptista tries to sprawl out of it but Sanders keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Baptista manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sanders misses with a body kick. Rod Sanders seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sanders chopping away at his opponent's legs.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanders throws a big shot that misses. Baptista has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sanders. Baptista fails to land with a series of punches.

Baptista bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sanders's head. Sanders catches Baptista with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Baptista tries to clinch up but Sanders circles away and keeps his distance. Baptista rushes Sanders and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Baptista lands a shoulder strike. Sanders wants to break free but Baptista has control.
Sanders has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Baptista tries to throw a body punch but Sanders avoids it by throwing Baptista back against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baptista misses with a body punch.
Baptista lands a hook that snaps the head of Sanders backwards. Baptista's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. A head punch blocked on the inside by Sanders. Baptista throws a punch but it's blocked by Sanders. Sanders is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Sanders blocking some punches.

Good work by Baptista as he checks the leg kick. Baptista slips under a jab from Sanders. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nice sprawl there from Baptista as Sanders shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rod Sanders. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sanders tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Baptista was well out of range. Poor timing from Sanders. Sanders lands a nice looking kick to the body. Baptista takes a step back to recover. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Baptista, right into the meat.
A head kick misses from Sanders. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Baptista tries to clinch but Sanders moves out of range. Angelo Baptista is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Decent striking displayed by Sanders there. Sanders scores with a nice right hand.

Baptista connects with a solid leg kick. Sanders dips to his left and cracks Baptista with an uppercut! Sanders throws a head kick that Baptista semi-blocks.
Baptista gets caught napping as Sanders dives in and scores a takedown. Baptista manages to retain guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Baptista wants to hit a switch here but Sanders passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Baptista there! Baptista is trying to escape the mount.
Baptista tries to hold on but Sanders postures up. Baptista is trying desperately to improve position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanders throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Sanders lands a heavy elbow. Baptista regains half guard. Sanders slips a nice elbow through Baptista's hands, connecting with Baptista's forehead. Baptista trying to hold on to Sanders's head to control him but Sanders postures up.
Sanders keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Baptista tries to roll over but Sanders keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanders thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Sanders is trying for a kimura here. Baptista looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Sanders wins by kimura!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rod Sanders! Rod Sanders bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
