Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Draven Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Jay Franlkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucas comes into the arena with Techno Viking blaring out of the sound system. Franlkin has chosen ACDC- For Those About To Rock as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Draven Lucas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Richard Jay Franlkin! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franlkin throws the left hand but Lucas avoids the punch easily. Lucas instigates a clinch. Franlkin tries to circle away but Lucas has him pinned against the cage. Lucas prevents Franlkin from breaking the clinch. Lucas wants a takedown but no success here.
Franlkin working hard to break the clinch. Lucas decides to pull guard. Lucas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Franlkin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Franlkin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Franlkin wants to get up but he can't break Lucas's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Lucas is trying to control the position but Franlkin postures up. Franlkin wants to stand but Lucas is controlling his posture from full guard. Franlkin is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lucas seems keen to control Franlkin's posture.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Lucas has managed to clinch.
Lucas manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Franlkin gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lucas.
Franlkin manages to break the clinch.
Lucas tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Franlkin defends well and Lucas ends up having to push Franlkin into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Draven Lucas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lucas looks to throw an elbow but misses. Lucas pulls Franlkin into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Franlkin stands and steps away. Lucas gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Lucas takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. We've been hearing reports that Lucas has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Franlkin avoids the head kick by Lucas.
Lucas shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Franlkin but Franlkin pushes him off and we're back to square one. Lucas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Lucas takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Franlkin throws a hook to the side of Lucas's head but Lucas sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Lucas fails to land with a series of punches.
Lucas walks into a jab. Franlkin connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Lucas wants to clinch up but Franlkin keeps it at a distance. Lucas shoots in for a takedown but Franlkin shows good takedown defense. Horrible takedown by Lucas or perhaps it was just good defense by Franlkin which made him look bad.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lucas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Franlkin's waist but Franlkin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lucas off to one side. Lucas is breathing heavily. Franlkin lands a glancing blow to the side of Lucas's head. Lucas fails with the takedown and Franlkin counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Lucas takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
It looks like Draven Lucas has been cut. Lucas misses with a takedown attempt - Franlkin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Lucas walks into a jab. Franlkin tests Lucas's chin there with a solid looking shot. Franlkin scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Franlkin looks to throw the jab but Lucas is out of range. Lucas misses with a takedown attempt and Lucas takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Lucas tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Franlkin defends well and Lucas ends up having to push Franlkin into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Franlkin wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lucas has him pressed against the cage. Franlkin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Franlkin breaks the clinch.
A right-left combo lands from Lucas. No luck with that takedown attempt from Lucas. Lucas with a lazy takedown attempt enabling Franlkin to counter with a crisp jab. Lucas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Lucas is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Franlkin to keep the fight standing. Lucas prevents Franlkin from breaking the clinch. Lucas is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Franlkin is defending well. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Lucas tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Franlkin smiles and moves away.
Lucas takes a body punch but keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Richard Jay Franlkin dominated that round. The cut man is working on Draven Lucas's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
A swing and a miss from Franlkin. Draven Lucas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lucas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Franlkin lands a glancing blow to the side of Lucas's head. Lucas pushes Franlkin up against the cage in a clinch. A frustrated look appears on Franlkin's face as he tries to break the clinch. Lucas jumps guard but Franlkin stands there with Lucas around his waist. Lucas gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Franlkin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Lucas tries to clinch up. Lucas darts in trying to clinch and Franlkin counters with a left to the body. Lucas shoots in and drives through. Franlkin sprawls well. Lucas fails with the takedown and Franlkin counters with a nice uppercut. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Draven Lucas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lucas misses with a takedown attempt - Franlkin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Franlkin dips to his left and cracks Lucas with an uppercut! Lucas tries to clinch up. Franlkin lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. A jab from Franlkin does it's job there. Lucas fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Franlkin avoids it really well and circles away. Franlkin sends Lucas crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Franlkin is motioning to the referee to let Lucas up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Lucas is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lucas walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Lucas limp body while Franlkin jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Richard Jay Franlkin! In his post fight interview, Richard Jay Franlkin started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
