Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ting Yan Wang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wang comes to the cage accompanied by Minority - Green Day. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 15 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ting Yan Wang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matt Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wang misses the jab.

Diaz drives through with a takedown into Wang's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Diaz advances to half guard.

Diaz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wang pushes Diaz off looking to stand but Diaz dives back in and keeps control.

Diaz seems to be working for a kimura but Wang defends the submission attempt.
My spies in Rough House inform me that Diaz has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Wang has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Diaz is working away from the top position though.

Diaz is looking for a kimura here.
Diaz trying to mount his opponent but Wang defends it.

Diaz is keen to just control but Wang is a slippery customer.
Wang is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Elite MMA Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Diaz is looking for a kimura but Wang is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Diaz to get the leverage.
Diaz works his way into full mount!
Diaz avoids the attempt from Wang to control.
Wang prevents Diaz from taking his back.
Wang tries to hold on but Diaz pushes him away.
Diaz with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.

Diaz is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Wang is surviving well by controlling Diaz's body position as best he can.

Wang tries to hold on but Diaz postures up.
Wang really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Wang manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Diaz is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Diaz working for a guillotine from mount but Wang is in no mood to give up.
Wang sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Wang keeps control of the position for the meantime.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Diaz tries to pass to full mount but Wang defends it.
Wang has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Diaz is working away from the top position though.

Diaz is looking for a kimura here.
Diaz trying to control from Wang's half guard. Wang has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wang swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wang is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Diaz is controlling him.
Diaz trying to control but Wang is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Diaz works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Diaz is trying to control the action in half guard but Wang is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Wang keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Diaz is looking to advance position but Wang won't allow it.

Wang has one foot on Diaz's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Diaz shoots in for a takedown but Wang shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Diaz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wang is fending him off so far but Diaz persists. Nope, Wang circles away and we're back to standing.
Wang looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wang connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Diaz connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Wang scores with a body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Diaz dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Diaz shoots in but no luck this time.
Diaz misses with a takedown attempt - Wang sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Wang takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Diaz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Diaz showed some decent athleticism there.
Diaz prevents Wang from improving his position.

Diaz is looking for a kimura but Wang is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Diaz to get the leverage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wang trying to hold on to Diaz's head to control him but Diaz postures up.

Diaz wants to work for an arm triangle but Wang is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Diaz is looking for a kimura but Wang is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Diaz to get the leverage.
Wang manages to get to full guard.

Wang is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Diaz is controlling him.
Wang controls Diaz momentarily but Diaz frees himself.

Wang looking for a guillotine here but Diaz defends easily.

Wang has his foot on Diaz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Diaz works his way back into a safe position though.
Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Wang swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Diaz lying in Wang's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Wang decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Diaz taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ting Yan Wang!
A very excited looking Ting Yan Wang made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
