5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Keisuke Takahashi! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kahric tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Takahashi swivels and escapes. Takahashi stuffs the takedown. Kahric is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Takahashi's half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Takahashi can do anything to dispel that myth. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Kahric is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Kahric is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Kahric wants to free his trapped foot but Takahashi is holding on for dear life with his legs. Kahric is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Takahashi is just riding it out for now. Kahric eventually gives up the hold. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kahric is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Takahashi has managed to free his arm - good work.

Kahric is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Takahashi defends it well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kahric seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Takahashi is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
