PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Douglas Quaid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyson comes into the arena with Mary had a little lamb blaring out of the sound system. Quaid has chosen Total Recall as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Tyson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Douglas Quaid!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyson throws a right hand that misses

and Quaid counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tyson won't be happy with that.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Quaid lands some shots froms side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Quaid remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Tyson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Quaid asserts his dominance and retains side control.

The ground and pound from Quaid seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Tyson is not content to let Quaid control the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Quaid tries to advance position but instead Tyson slips a leg back in to half guard.

Tyson is not content to let Quaid control the position.
Quaid misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Tyson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Quaid asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Tyson wants to control but Quaid postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Quaid takes a little break here. Tyson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Quaid tries to move into full mount but can't pass Tyson's legs.
Quaid with the ground and pound but Tyson regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Quaid is pressing down on Tyson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tyson is holding on for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Quaid keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Tyson is positioning himself well to prevent Quaid advancing to mount.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Tyson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Quaid takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Tyson looks to score with a jab to the body but Quaid is just out of range.
Tyson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Tyson misses with a straight right.
Mike Tyson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Quaid dips to his left and cracks Tyson with an uppercut!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tyson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Quaid fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tyson manages to avoid it.
Tyson connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Quaid on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Douglas Quaid dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Tyson, as that shot connected.
Tyson misses with a looping left.
Tyson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Tyson thows a body shot but no joy.
Tyson lands with a shot to the body.
Quaid smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Quaid feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Tysons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Good shot there by Quaid.
Quaid moves out of range as Tyson strikes.
Tyson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Quaid swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Tyson.
Tyson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling Quaid to counter with a crisp jab.


Tyson is rocked!
Douglas Quaid seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Tyson misses with a hook.
Quaid lands with a cross.
Oh Tyson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Tyson walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Quaid swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Douglas Quaid!
Douglas Quaid is the new heavyweight champion!
Douglas Quaid gave a mention to Milwaukee's Best 160 in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
Mike Tyson was interviewed post fight and said 'Great job man. I was the HW champ when you got your first fight in SFL. Now you hold two titles and have two wins over me. Great fight man congrats'.
