Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daisuke Numazawa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Meguru Takayanagi! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Takayanagi fails with a takedown attempt. Numazawa scores with a kick to the body.
Takayanagi moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Takayanagi avoids the head kick by Numazawa.
Takayanagi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Takayanagi looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Numazawa keeps Takayanagi under control for a moment. Numazawa tries to buck Takayanagi off but Takayanagi is having none of it. Takayanagi throws an elbow but Numazawa slips to the side and avoids it well. Numazawa is not content to let Takayanagi control the position. Takayanagi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Numazawa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Takayanagi creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Numazawa sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Numazawa parries the strikes from Takayanagi easily there. Takayanagi is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Numazawa to escape.

Numazawa tries to buck Takayanagi off but Takayanagi is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Numazawa takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Numazawa takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Takayanagi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Numazawa, who protects the arm well. Takayanagi working away. Takayanagi cracks Numazawa with an elbow. That is naaassty. Numazawa is trying to control Takayanagi's posture but Takayanagi avoids it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. That's three minutes gone in the round. Numazawa trying his best to control but Takayanagi has mounted him. Numazawa tries to reverse the position but Takayanagi maintains control. Numazawa bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Numazawa has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Takayanagi to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Numazawa is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Takayanagi pulls down on the head and he's put Numazawa to sleep! This one is all over!
