Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brian Fantana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammer Bammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fantana comes into the arena with The Sex Panther Is Out Tonight - Barry White feat. Brian Fantana blaring out of the sound system. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Fantana! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sammer Bammer! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bammer fails with the takedown and Fantana counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Fantana scores with a jab to the body. Bammer throws a looping overhand right but Fantana ducks down to avoid it. Fantana misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bammer.
A big right from Bammer misses. Bammer takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Fantana lands the left hand. Bammer throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Fantana counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Fantana slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Bammer shoots in and bounces Fantana off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Fantana trying to control the position here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bammer drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Fantana dives on top into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fantana controlling from the top position. Bammer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fantana is one step ahead there. Bammer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fantana gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Fantana stands up over Bammer, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Fantana postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Bammer is trying to keep Fantana in close.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bammer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Ground and pound from Fantana. Fantana thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Fantana lands strikes from half guard. Bammer is trying to get back to full guard. Fantana is figuring out what he wants to do next. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fantana is trying to control. Bammer wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantana is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Bammer is not content to let Fantana control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fantana connects with a nice short shot to Bammer's temple. Fantana working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Fantana seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bammer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Bammer looking for submissions off his back. Bammer on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Fantana tries to pass to full mount but Bammer defends it. Fantana trying to control from half guard but Bammer is working away. Bammer felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Fantana lands with a punch from half guard. Fantana wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bammer keeps working.

Bammer is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fantana pulls his head out easily. Fantana wants to take a breather but Bammer is having none of it. This has been an exciting period of action! Bammer looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Fantana landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fantana is taking a breather. Bammer says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Fantana is trying to control. Bammer wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Bammer tries to roll over but Fantana keeps him under control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Fantana dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Bammer throws a big shot that misses. Bammer rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Fantana counters with a left to the body. Fantana bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Fantana trying to control the action but Bammer is working from the bottom. Fantana lands a few punches from side control. Bammer manages to get back to half guard. Fantana sitting and controlling from the half guard. Fantana is pressing down on Bammer's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bammer is holding on for now. Fantana has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Fantana looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bammer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fantana connects with a nice short shot to Bammer's temple.
