6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nils Holgersson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tom Quin! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Holgersson with a lazy takedown attempt and Quin counters with a stiff right hand. Holgersson throws a head kick that misses. Holgersson listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. We've been hearing reports that Holgersson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Holgersson misses with a double jab
and Quin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A low kick from Holgersson is predictable there and Quin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Quin. Quin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Holgersson throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Horrible takedown by Holgersson or perhaps it was just good defense by Quin which made him look bad. Holgersson looking to land some kicks to the body here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quin sizes up Holgersson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
It looks like Nils Holgersson has been cut. Quin stuffs the takedown attempt from Holgersson. Holgersson gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nils Holgersson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Holgersson misses with a head kick.
Holgersson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Quin sees it coming and avoids it easily. Holgersson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Holgersson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Quin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Holgersson is rocked! Holgersson tries a head kick but it misses.
Holgersson throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Holgersson looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Tom Quin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Holgersson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Quin connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Holgersson momentarily.
Oh Holgersson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. BAM! Quin delivers a spinning backfist that drops Holgersson like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
