Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between BLACK MONSTER (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cj Kennedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, BLACK MONSTER!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cj Kennedy!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MONSTER fails to land with a series of punches.
MONSTER goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
MONSTER rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kennedy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
MONSTER misses with a head kick.

Kennedy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
MONSTER tries to get back to half guard but can't.
MONSTER can't do much from the bottom here.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
MONSTER is trying to improve his position.
Kennedy lands a decent elbow from side control.
MONSTER takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Kennedy cracks MONSTER with a big right hand but MONSTER just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Kennedy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kennedy looks up at the clock and then as MONSTER takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kennedy smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

MONSTER tries to buck Kennedy off but Kennedy is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
MONSTER takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Kennedy avoids the head kick by MONSTER.
MONSTER misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kennedy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as MONSTER throws out the jab.
BLACK MONSTER seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kennedy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
MONSTER really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Kennedy is keen to just control but MONSTER is a slippery customer.

MONSTER moves into full guard.
MONSTER will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kennedy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of MONSTER is proving hard to escape from.

Kennedy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. MONSTER swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
MONSTER misses with the combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cj Kennedy dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


MONSTER throws a nice looking combination but Kennedy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kennedy pivots, looking for a leg kick but MONSTER is out of range and Kennedy settles back down.
MONSTER throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Kennedy.
MONSTER throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kennedy feints and as MONSTER raises his hands in defense, Kennedy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kennedy trying to control the position from guard on top but MONSTER is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

MONSTER is looking for a triangle but Kennedy pushes his legs off easily.
Kennedy is in close to MONSTER's body, working some short punches and elbows.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now MONSTER is on top in guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kennedy throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Kennedy wants to get back to his feet but MONSTER is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

MONSTER working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kennedy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kennedy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

MONSTER escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kennedy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

MONSTER has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kennedy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

MONSTER looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

MONSTER is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Kennedy keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of MONSTER's head.
Kennedy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
MONSTER looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Kennedy shoots in and bounces MONSTER off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kennedy can do anything to dispel that myth.

MONSTER throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Cj Kennedy has got the better of the ground game so far.

MONSTER has control of Kennedy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kennedy regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Kennedy is looking to improve his position but MONSTER isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that BLACK MONSTER will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Kennedy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. MONSTER looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kennedy wants to control but MONSTER is keeping him busy.

MONSTER is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kennedy wants to get back to full guard.

MONSTER is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
MONSTER uses his free foot to push down on Kennedy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Kennedy.

Kennedy is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
MONSTER controlling well, preventing Kennedy from escaping the position.
