Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trumi Drake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abe Eaton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eaton has chosen The Unforgiven by Apocalyptica as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Trumi Drake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Abe Eaton! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drake wants to clinch but Eaton slips to the side and Drake takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. The fight moves into the clinch position. Drake throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Eaton blocks it with crossed arms. Knees in the clinch landing for Drake.
Drake working aggressively here.
Drake throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Eaton pulls Drake into guard.
Eaton is trying to control the position but Drake postures up. Eaton seems keen to control Drake's posture. Drake trying to control but Eaton is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Drake has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drake wants to pass the guard but Eaton is keeping the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Trumi Drake just wasn't active enough. Drake wants to clinch but Eaton slips to the side and Eaton counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Eaton has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Drake is landing a low percentage of strikes. Drake tries to clinch letting Eaton counter with a right hand. Drake misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Eaton counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Drake closes the distance but Eaton moves to the side and Eaton counters by clinching up. Drake has a couple of punches blocked by Eaton.
Eaton takes an elbow to the temple.
It looks like Abe Eaton has been cut. Drake is looking to control Eaton's arms but Eaton gets an underhook and turns him. Now Drake has his back to the cage. Eaton wants to take the fight to the mat but Drake manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Drake with a knee to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Drake stalling.
Drake throws an elbow but it misses.
Eaton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Drake closes the distance but Eaton moves to the side and Eaton counters with a flying knee. Nice. Drake tries to clinch up. Eaton tries to keep at a distance but Drake has taken the fight into the clinch. Drake throws a knee to the head but misses.
Eaton wants the takedown. Drake is fighting it off but Eaton persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Drake's guard against the cage. Drake not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Drake on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Drake tries to get out of the position. Drake wants to sweep here but Eaton controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eaton sitting in guard, not really doing much. Eaton lands a couple of decent looking shots. Eaton drops back looking for a leg! Drake is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Drake manages to kick Eaton off! Eaton jumps back into Drake's guard. Eaton slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Drake tries to land a sweep but no joy. Drake is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Eaton dives into side control.
Eaton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Drake keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Eaton has an Americana. Drake didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Eaton is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Eaton hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Abe Eaton! A less than humble Abe Eaton misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
