Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lias Kota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Hibbert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roy Hibbert is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lias Kota! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Roy Hibbert! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kota takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Hibbert gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kota to score an easy takedown into full guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Kota working some strikes from top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hibbert has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kota can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hibbert is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kota is aware though and is defending well. Kota working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Kota tries to free his leg and advance position but Hibbert is retaining full guard. Kota throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Hibbert is looking for a triangle but Kota pushes his legs off easily.
Kota keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hibbert's head. Hibbert working for submissions but it's allowed Kota to get to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kota lands strikes from half guard. Kota working the head and body with strikes. Kota is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hibbert doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kota. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kota seems to be working for a kimura but Hibbert defends the submission attempt. Kota takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Kota has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hibbert taking some punishment here, with Kota in his half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kota looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Kota working the head and body with strikes. Kota is working for a submission of some sort.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kota connects with a nice short shot to Hibbert's temple.
Hibbert is rocked! Kota is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hibbert sees it coming and defends easily. Hibbert has hold of Kota's hands but Kota slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Kota is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Kota working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Hibbert is still in real trouble! Can Kota finish him? Hibbert is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kota pulls his head out easily. Hibbert seems to have recovered his senses. Kota seems to be looking for submissions.
Kota looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kota is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hibbert defends it well. Kota working Hibbert over with strikes. Kota lands with a punch from half guard. Kota lands strikes from half guard. Hibbert is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kota scores with a couple of nice shots. Kota is nestled in close to Hibbert, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kota is trying to work for a kimura but Hibbert is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kota is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hibbert has managed to free his arm - good work. Hibbert looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Kota is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hibbert sees it coming and defends easily. Hibbert really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kota. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kota is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hibbert doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kota. Kota is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lias Kota dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Kota tries for a takedown but Hibbert sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Kota takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like Lias Kota has been cut. Kota throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hibbert tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kota is in Hibbert's guard. Kota makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hibbert is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kota content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Kota chips away with some ground and pound. Hibbert working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Kota has passed into half guard!

Hibbert's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Hibbert! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
