Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Collin Hinton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Houston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Collin Hinton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeff Houston!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hinton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Houston paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Both fighters circling a little - Houston finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Hinton really is a fat lump.

Houston closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hinton to the mat! Hinton manages to get full guard.
Houston wants to pass the guard but Hinton is keeping the position.
Houston is looking to pass into half guard but Hinton pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Hinton is in guard.
Houston not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hinton wants to stand but Houston has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hinton stands up from Houston's guard - Hinton perhaps looking for a knockout.
Houston misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hinton.
Hinton wants to clinch
and Houston counters with a head kick. That will keep Hinton thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Houston throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hinton was covering up waiting for the punch and Houston finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Hinton preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Houston wants to control from the top but Hinton keeps moving.

Hinton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Houston gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hinton looking for a guillotine here but Houston defends easily.
Hinton looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Houston postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Houston is looking to stand up but Hinton won't let him.
Hinton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hinton is looking to stand up but Houston isn't so interested in that idea.
Hinton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Houston seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Houston closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hinton sneaks back into half guard.

Hinton is trying is best to control the position here.

Hinton trying to hold on to Houston's head to control him but Houston postures up.
Hinton is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Houston's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Houston's back!
Houston wants to escape the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hinton gets his hands free as Houston looks to control.
I really don't envy Houston right now.

Hinton looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Houston is controlling Hinton 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.
Houston trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hinton wants to sweep but no luck.
Houston trying to control the position from guard on top but Hinton is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Houston stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hinton swivels though and keeps the full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hinton is controlling Houston's posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jeff Houston will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Houston is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hinton's half guard.

Hinton is trying to get back to full guard.
Hinton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Houston is working away from the top position though.
Houston looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Houston wants to take a breather but Hinton is having none of it.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Hinton is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Jeff Houston has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Hinton lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hinton looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Collin Hinton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hinton wants to clinch.
Hinton throws a combination. Houston tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Houston shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Houston wants to stand but Hinton has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Hinton wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Hinton throws his legs up looking for a submission but Houston uses it to pass to side control.

Hinton is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Houston's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Houston seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hinton does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Hinton gets back to full guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Hinton wants to clinch but Houston slips to the side
and Houston makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Hinton really felt that one!
Hinton tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Houston paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Houston has Hinton up against the cage in a clinch.
Hinton has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Hinton trying to control the position but instead, Houston has worked for underhooks and has pushed Hinton into the cage.
Hinton tries to land knees in the clinch but Houston avoids the damage to the body.

Houston's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hinton has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Hinton throws a head kick that half lands.

Houston shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Houston was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Houston wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hinton keeps working.

Hinton looks to move to half guard but instead Houston has passed into mount! Damn!
Houston fails to advance to Hinton's back.
Hinton is squirming around, avoiding Houston's attempts to control the action.

Hinton keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Houston is working for a guillotine from mount but Hinton frees his head quite easily.
Houston thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Hinton tries to hold on but Houston postures up.
Poor strikes thrown by Houston there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Houston tries to control but Hinton wriggling away.
Hinton slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Houston is trying to control the action in half guard but Hinton is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Houston seems to be looking for submissions.
Houston takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hinton wants to control but Houston is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hinton is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Hinton tries to get to full guard but Houston has control of the leg.
Hinton is trying to control but Houston passes into side control!

Houston tries for a kimura but Hinton is defending well.
Hinton is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Houston has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Collin Hinton has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jeff Houston is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hinton is not content to let Houston control the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Jeff Houston.
I've got Houston winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
