Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Doug Ram (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vance Vorhees (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Doug Ram!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vance Vorhees!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vorhees throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ram shoots for a double leg takedown but Vorhees sprawls well. He's pushed Ram's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Vorhees blocks a head kick by Ram.
Ram shoots in and drives through. Vorhees sprawls well.
Ram tries to clinch up but Vorhees circles away and keeps his distance.
Ram fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ram looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vorhees is fending him off so far but Ram persists. Nope, Vorhees circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Doug Ram. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vorhees cracks a nice hook into Ram's ribs.

Ram shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Vorhees wants to get back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ram prevents Vorhees from improving his position.
Ram tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Ram slows the pace down in half guard.

Vorhees is refusing to be controlled, as Ram sits in half guard.

Vorhees with the active half guard here but Ram passes nicely into side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Vorhees tries to roll over but Ram keeps him under control.
Ram seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vorhees does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ram is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Vorhees is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Doug Ram will probably get the nod.

Ram takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Ram drives through with a takedown into guard.

Vorhees working for submissions but it's allowed Ram to get to half guard.
Vorhees is not content to let Ram control the position.
Ram with the ground and pound but Vorhees uses the opportunity to regain guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ram is looking to work some ground and pound but Vorhees has wrist control.
Ram trying to control the position from guard on top but Vorhees is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Vorhees looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Vorhees is breathing heavily.

Vorhees isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Ram stacks Vorhees on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Ram!
Vorhees tries to buck Ram off but Ram is having none of it.
Ram tries to stand but Vorhees is controlling his head.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ram tries to move into full mount but can't pass Vorhees's legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Vorhees throws a series of punches but Ram avoids them all with ease.

Ram scores with a takedown into Vorhees's guard.
Vorhees doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Vorhees throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Ram pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Vorhees is keeping the position for now.

Ram trying to stand up but can't free himself from Vorhees's guard.
Ram distracts Vorhees with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Vorhees wants to sweep here but Ram controlling him for the moment.
Ram controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Vorhees is looking for a triangle here but Ram uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Ram lands some shots froms side control.
Ram trying to control the action but Vorhees is working from the bottom.
Ram slows the pace down.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ram scores with a couple of short elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doug Ram dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Ram fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Vorhees as Ram shoots in.
Vorhees throws a sloppy head kick
and Ram counters with a body kick.
Doug Ram is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A punch combination from Vorhees misses.
Vorhees tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Vorhees throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Ram counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Vorhees regains full guard. Nicely done.
Ram is looking to stand up but Vorhees won't let him.
Ram trying to control but Vorhees is working from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Vorhees wants to sweep here but Ram controlling him for the moment.

Ram is posturing up here but Vorhees has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Ram tries to roll out but it's too tight and Ram has to tap! Slick submission there by Vorhees!
