Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Barral (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darios Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Darios Ellis will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paulo Barral! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darios Ellis! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barral avoids the body shot from Ellis.
Barral definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Ellis stuffs the takedown. Ellis connects with the punch. Ellis shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Barral eats them both and turns towards Ellis to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Barral fails with the takedown. Ellis tries to sprawl but Barral drives through with a takedown into half guard. Barral is breathing heavily. Barral tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ellis knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Ellis is looking to control Barral's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ellis avoid being mounted? Barral throwing shots but Ellis is blocking nicely. Ellis is trying to stand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barral not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Ellis has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ellis has his hands clasped together around Barral's back. He's all about the action. Barral is looking to take a break and control but Ellis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ellis is concentrating on defense, preventing Barral from advancing position. Ellis manages to get to full guard.
Ellis controls Barral momentarily but Barral frees himself.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Barral takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Ellis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Barral looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ellis is fending him off so far but Barral persists. Nope, Ellis circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paulo Barral. That's going to take a lot out of him. A nice combination there by Ellis.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ellis lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ellis. Barral doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ellis counters with a three punch combo that has Barral backing up. Barral nods at Ellis to acknowledge the strikes. Ellis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ellis lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ellis lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Ellis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Barral. Ellis gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Barral has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ellis is trying to keep an underhook but Barral manages to get the takedown into half guard. Ellis moves into full guard.
Ellis tries to land a sweep but no joy. Barral loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Ellis is looking for a triangle here but Barral uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barral trying to control the position but Ellis is working away. Barral wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ellis, who protects the arm well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barral is looking to take a break and control but Ellis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ellis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Barral wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Ellis is pushing Barral's head away, looking to escape. Barral manages to hold on to the position though. Ellis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barral. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Barral lands some shots froms side control. Barral is looking to take a break and control but Ellis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Ellis can't do much from the bottom here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Barral content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Darios Ellis dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ellis is trying to drag Barral to the mat but Barral just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Barral has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ellis is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Ellis goes for a double leg but Barral avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Barral continues to drive forward. Ellis is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Barral pulls him back up using the underhooks. Barral is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Ellis tries to pull guard but Barral holds him up against the cage and eventually Ellis drops back down to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ellis throws a nice looking combination but Barral bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Ellis lands with a cross. No joy there for Ellis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Paulo Barral is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ellis gets in close and instigates a clinch. Barral has picked Ellis up - he's going for a ride! Barral dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ellis wants to get back to his feet. Barral is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ellis sees it coming and defends easily. Ellis wants to control but Barral is keeping busy.
