The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alex doesn't manage to clinch there - McGuiness circles away.
McGuiness takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Alex clinches up with McGuiness and pushes him back against the cage.
McGuiness tries to break the clinch but Alex is controlling the position.

Alex escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McGuiness throws out a loose jab but Alex uses good head movement to avoid it.
Alex slips under a jab from McGuiness.
Alex fails to land the takedown.
McGuiness looks to throw the jab but Alex is out of range.
A jab from McGuiness misses.
The crowd cheers as McGuiness lands an impressive looking overhand right. Alex doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Silviu Alex has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Alex staying out of range there.
McGuiness leaves Alex with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Alex fails with a takedown attempt.

McGuiness throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Alex moves into the clinch.

Alex escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McGuiness lands a jab to the nose.

McGuiness drops Alex with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Alex looks back up at him and smiles so McGuiness waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Alex is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

McGuiness jabs Alex to the body, keeping him at a distance.
McGuiness connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Alex out cold! This one is over in a flash!

After the fight, Liam McGuiness was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
