Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ranu Tedja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marin Piekny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ranu Tedja has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ranu Tedja! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marin Piekny! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Ron Honeybunn and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Piekny throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Tedja was covering up waiting for the punch and Piekny finishes the takedown easily into guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Piekny with a flurry of punches that miss. Tedja is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Tedja is looking for a kimura but Piekny is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tedja to get the leverage. Tedja is thwarting Piekny's attempts to control the position. Piekny wants to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tedja perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Tedja missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Piekny tries to kick Tedja off but Tedja keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Tedja is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Piekny manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Tedja wants to control from the top but Piekny keeps moving. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Piekny wants to stand but Tedja is controlling the position. Tedja throwing strikes from guard but Piekny blocks nicely. Piekny is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Tedja stands up from Piekny's guard - Tedja perhaps looking for a knockout. Piekny shoots in and bounces Tedja off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Tedja has his foot on Piekny's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Piekny works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Piekny with a flurry of punches that miss. Piekny is working Tedja over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Piekny is in close to Tedja's body, working some short punches and elbows. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Tedja had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Piekny defends it easily. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Piekny with a flurry of punches that miss. Piekny chips away with some ground and pound. Tedja can't keep his opponent in guard - Piekny advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Piekny takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Tedja on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Piekny prevents Tedja from improving his position. Tedja has hold of Piekny's hands but Piekny slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Piekny scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Piekny looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tedja with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Piekny lands a nice short elbow. Nice strikes from Piekny there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Piekny is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Tedja is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Piekny drops an elbow to the side of Tedja's head. Oh Tedja is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Piekny lands a big elbow - Tedja is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Piekny!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marin Piekny!
