Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Doom!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
19 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Kimmo!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimmo throws a hook to the side of Doom's head but Doom sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kimmo has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Doom is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Doom is looking to land body kicks.
The fighters circling - Kimmo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
A leg kick checked by Doom.
Kimmo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Doom moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kimmo throws a head kick but Doom moves out of range.
Doom keeps the fight on the outside.
Kimmo tries to clinch but Doom moves away
and Doom counters with a right hand to the body.
Doom lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kimmo's sensitive parts.
Doom lands with a good body shot.
A solid body kick from Doom.
Doom looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Doom dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kimmo. That did some damage!
Kimmo looks winded!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kimmo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Doom.
Doom tries a head kick but it misses.
Doom on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Doom stuns Kimmo with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Doom connects with an inside leg kick.
Doom fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kimmo.
Doom lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A cross from Doom lands.
Doom drops Kimmo with a left right combo! Doom follows him down to the ground into side control.
Kimmo is rocked!
It looks like Michael Kimmo has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Doom scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Kimmo is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Doom can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dave Doom!
