Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Garry Buttridge! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Billie Jones! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones has Buttridge up against the cage in a clinch.
Jones looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Buttridge has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jones is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Buttridge wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
Buttridge has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jones uses from the top position. Buttridge pulls Jones in close to prevent any damage. Buttridge has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Buttridge wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.

Buttridge pulls Jones in close to prevent any damage. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Buttridge is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Buttridge controlling the position. Buttridge might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Buttridge tries to strike from the bottom.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Buttridge is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Buttridge controlling the position. Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Buttridge has his foot on Jones's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jones works his way back into a safe position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to control from the top but Buttridge keeps moving. Buttridge has his feet on Jones's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Jones shoots in for a takedown but Buttridge shows good takedown defense. Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Buttridge as he jumps to the side. Buttridge looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Jones is refusing to be controlled, as Buttridge sits in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones is trying to control but can't.
Jones wants to control the action here but instead Buttridge manages to pass to full mount! Jones wants to hold on but Buttridge pushes him away. Buttridge postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Jones looks a forlorn figure.
Jones is trying desperately to improve position. Buttridge looking to control and managing it successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Garry Buttridge dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Buttridge tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Jones counters with a low kick, right behind Buttridge 's knee. Jones tries to clinch there but Buttridge circles away.
Buttridge scores with a takedown into Jones's guard. Buttridge loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Buttridge stays in close to Jones's body and controls the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones trying to control the position.
Buttridge seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Garry Buttridge just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Jones tries to keep at a distance but Buttridge has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Buttridge holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Buttridge keeps control of Jones as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Jones lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. A battle for position here, against the cage. Jones throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Buttridge breaks from the clinch.
Garry Buttridge is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Buttridge closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Jones keeping control of the position. Buttridge seems to be looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buttridge slows the pace down in half guard. Jones blocking the ground and pound attempt from Buttridge. Buttridge wants to pass to mount but Jones is defending the position. Jones moves into full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Buttridge controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Buttridge trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones wants to stand but Buttridge is controlling the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Garry Buttridge dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Jones gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Buttridge counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Jones is trying to stand up here but Buttridge is controlling him well. Buttridge is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Buttridge decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Buttridge feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Garry Buttridge overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Buttridge trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Buttridge is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jones Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Buttridge's back instead. Buttridge prevents Jones from getting a body triangle. Buttridge trying to control the hands but Jones won't let him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Jones scores with punches from the back.
Buttridge tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Jones is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Buttridge has managed to escape the submission attempt.
BOOM! Jones connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones prevents Buttridge from getting the reversal. Buttridge tries to hold on but Jones pushes him away. Buttridge has given up his back here.
Buttridge tries to roll but Jones sticks to his back.
Buttridge has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Buttridge breaks Jones's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Buttridge is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Buttridge pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now. Buttridge stopping the sweep attempt from Jones. Billie Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Garry Buttridge is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Jones escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Buttridge gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that's the end of the fight! Garry Buttridge showed his dominance in that final round. Well Buttridge has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
