Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Colin Sheppard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juiceball Ball (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Colin Sheppard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Juiceball Ball!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Ball. Those never looked like landing.

Ball gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Ball effectively controlling the action here.
Ball tries to pull guard but Sheppard forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Sheppard is pressed up against the cage. Ball has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sheppard down to the mat. Sheppard avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ball throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ball lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sheppard circles away quickly and effectively.
Sheppard shoots in for a takedown but Ball shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Horrible takedown by Ball or perhaps it was just good defense by Sheppard which made him look bad.
Colin Sheppard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juiceball Ball.
Nice takedown defense from Sheppard. No joy for Ball on that attempt.
Sheppard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ball fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sheppard tries to clinch but Ball moves out of range.

Sheppard uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ball.
Ball misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sheppard stuffs the takedown attempt from Ball. Ball gets slowly back to his feet.
Ball shoots for a takedown but Sheppard saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sheppard fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ball avoids it really well and circles away.
Ball has his takedown stuffed
and Sheppard counters with a right hand to the body.
Ball looks winded!
Ball slaps away a takedown attempt from Sheppard, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Ball closes the distance and clinches.

Ball stalling.

Ball manages to break the clinch.
Ball displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sheppard.

Ball has closed the distance and engaged Sheppard in a clinch.
Ball throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Sheppards head.
Ball lands a hook that snaps the head of Sheppard backwards.

Ball breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ball shoots in looking for a takedown. Sheppard tries to sprawl out of it but Ball keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sheppard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sheppard tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ball defends well and Sheppard ends up having to push Ball into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Ball breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No luck for Ball with that takedown attempt.

Ball wants to take the fight to the mat but Sheppard manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Ball manages to break the clinch.

Sheppard wants to clinch up but Ball keeps it at a distance.
Ball throws a leg kick that misses.
Sheppard takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Sheppard looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sheppard shoots in looking for a takedown. Ball tries to sprawl out of it but Sheppard keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ball manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ball will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sheppard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ball tries to avoid it but Sheppard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ball to the ground. Ball escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ball darts in and clinches Sheppard up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Juiceball Ball dominated that round.
That's time! Sheppard's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Ball tries for a takedown but Sheppard sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Ball instigates a clinch.
Ball tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sheppard smiles and moves away.
Colin Sheppard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juiceball Ball.
Ball misses with an uppercut.
Ball looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sheppard is fending him off so far but Ball persists. Nope, Sheppard circles away and we're back to standing.
Sheppard shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ball as he jumps to the side.
Ball keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ball should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Ball walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Sheppard checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Sheppard gets a clinch.
Sheppard can't break the clinch.
Ball tries to pull guard but Sheppard forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Sheppard wants a takedown.
Sheppard has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ball is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Ball jumps guard and drags Sheppard to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Ball looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Ball working for a triangle but Sheppard defends it easily.

Ball trying to keep a closed guard but Sheppard is proving a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Juiceball Ball was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Ball takes a swing at Sheppard's ribcage but misses.
Ball shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ball is breathing heavily.
Sheppard tries to close the distance and clinch but Ball swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Ball. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Sheppard dives in and grabs Ball's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ball pushes down on Sheppard's head and hops out.
Nice sprawl there from Sheppard as Ball shoots in.
Sheppard stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sheppard wants it to stay on the feet.
Sheppard tries to clinch but Ball moves out of range.
Sheppard's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ball under the eye.
Sheppard catches Ball with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Juiceball Ball seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ball clinches with his opponent.
Sheppard has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Ball after a bit of a struggle.

Sheppard escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ball shoots in but no luck this time.
Ball looks for a takedown but Sheppard sprawls well.
No luck for Sheppard with that takedown attempt.
Sheppard darts in looking for a takedown but Ball gets double underhooks and turns Sheppard into the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sheppard fails to pull the fight into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Juiceball Ball will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Sheppard bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Ball is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sheppard asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sheppard is trying to ground and pound but Ball uses the momentary lack of control by Sheppard to regain half guard.
Ball is trying to stand up here but Sheppard is controlling him well.
Ball blocking the ground and pound attempt from Sheppard.
Sheppard throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ball is looking to improve his position.
Sheppard throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Sheppard looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Sheppard is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Ball blocking the ground and pound attempt from Sheppard.
Sheppard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Ball trying to control but Sheppard postures up.

Sheppard is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ball doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sheppard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Ball manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Ball pulls Sheppard in close to prevent any damage.

Ball looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ball takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ball manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sheppard manages to get himself to full guard.

Sheppard looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Ball decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Sheppard shoots for a double leg takedown but Ball sprawls well. He's pushed Sheppard's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ball throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Ball clinches.

Ball jumps guard.

Ball is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Ball escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ball with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Sheppard dives in for a single leg takedown but Ball sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Sheppard is looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Colin Sheppard. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ball is trying to pull guard but Sheppard has him pressed against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Ball escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ball is defended easily by Sheppard.

Juiceball Ball is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Ball has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
