Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Santo Mayer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jared Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Morgan's choice of entrance music: I Walk Alone. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Santo Mayer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jared Morgan!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Mayer counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Morgan!
Mayer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Mayer cracks Morgan with a big right hand but Morgan just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Mayer remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Mayer is pressed up against the cage. Morgan has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mayer down to the mat. Mayer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Morgan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mayer controls the pace.

Mayer seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Morgan for as long as he can get away with.

Morgan is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Mayer rolls with it to try and escape but Morgan cranks on the arm and Mayer is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Our winner, Jared Morgan, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
