Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mama Sitas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joan Miquel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miquel tries to close the distance and clinch but Sitas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Miquel fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Sitas sprawls well initially but Miquel persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Sitas scores with a few weak punches.
Sitas is refusing to be controlled, as Miquel sits in half guard.
Sitas preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Sitas trying to hold on to Miquel's head to control him but Miquel postures up.
Sitas is not content to let Miquel control the position.
Sitas tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Miquel is keen to just control but Sitas is a slippery customer.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Joan Miquel hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Sitas fails with a takedown attempt.
Sitas swats away the attempt to clinch by Miquel.
Sitas closes the distance and clinches.
Miquel is looking to control Sitas's arms but Sitas gets an underhook and turns him. Now Miquel has his back to the cage.

Sitas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Miquel dives in for a single leg takedown but Sitas sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Mama Sitas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joan Miquel.
Sitas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Miquel has managed to clinch.
Sitas pulls guard effortlessly.

Sitas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sitas is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Miquel is controlling him.
Sitas had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Miquel defends it easily.
Miquel must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sitas is looking to stand up but Miquel isn't so interested in that idea.

Miquel drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sitas manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Miquel has Sitas in his guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Miquel can do anything to dispel that myth.
Miquel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Miquel wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Sitas drops back looking for a leg! Miquel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Miquel manages to kick Sitas off! Sitas jumps back into Miquel's guard.
Miquel wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Sitas is now in half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Mama Sitas will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Sitas fails with a takedown attempt.
Sitas manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Miquel on his heels. He'll look to pass Miquel's guard now, I'm sure.
Miquel wants to stand and escape but Sitas is having none of it.
Sitas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miquel swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sitas throws a big right hand that misses.
Sitas decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Miquel, up you get!
Miquel tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sitas defends well and Miquel ends up having to push Sitas into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Miquel jumps guard but Sitas stands there with Miquel around his waist. Miquel gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Sitas jumps guard and drags Miquel to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Sitas wants to sweep here but Miquel controlling him for the moment.

Sitas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Miquel as he jumps to the side.

Sitas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Miquel as he avoids it easily.
Sitas stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sitas wants it to stay on the feet.

Sitas is pressing down on Miquel's thigh, looking to free his foot. Miquel is holding on for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sitas shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sitas showed some decent athleticism there.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sitas lands a nice short elbow.

Miquel manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sitas manages to get himself to full guard.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Miquel enables Sitas to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Miquel manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Miquel is trying to hold Sitas in close to prevent damage but Sitas has managed to pass into half guard.

Sitas is nestled in close to Miquel, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Miquel has his hands clasped together around Sitas's back. He's all about the action.
Sitas is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Sitas frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
