Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josue Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Alexis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josue Lee has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josue Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Juan Alexis!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Steve Erwin and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexis stuffs the takedown.

Alexis forces Lee back against the cage and clinches.
Lee is trying to push Alexis away but Alexis has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Lee drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Lee looking to hit a scissor sweep but Alexis is one step ahead there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alexis is pushing down on Lee's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lee is fighting to maintain full guard but Alexis has managed to sneak the leg through.
Alexis looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Lee trying to control from the bottom.
Lee is trying to get back to full guard.
Still in half guard, Alexis seems content to control.

Alexis wants to work for an arm triangle but Lee is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Lee won't allow Alexis to pass to mount.
Alexis prevents Lee from improving his position.
Alexis wants to control but Lee is keeping him busy.
Alexis frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Lee could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Lee swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Lee is trying desperately to improve position.
Lee throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Alexis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lee is looking to escape.
Lee really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Lee is working hard here to advance position.

Alexis looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Alexis looking to control but Lee is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Alexis lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alexis lands a big shot there that rocks Lee but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Alexis swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Lee is now in Alexis's guard. A big mistake from Alexis there, giving up the dominant position!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alexis looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lee is looking to work some ground and pound but Alexis has wrist control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alexis is trying to keep Lee in close.

Lee is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Juan Alexis dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Alexis throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Alexis closes the distance and clinches.
Lee is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Alexis to keep the fight standing.
Alexis is trying to break the clinch but Lee is controlling him.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Lee as Alexis tries to tie him up.

Lee is trying to force a seperation but Alexis has the dominant position.

Alexis has Lee pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Alexis pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lee tumbling to the mat - Alexis dives into Lee's guard.
Alexis tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard.

Lee wants to stand but Alexis is controlling the position.
Lee keeping moving, preventing Alexis from controlling successfully.
Lee will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Alexis pushes down on Lee's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Alexis decides to stand and escape the position.

Alexis pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Alexis looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Alexis gets to his feet - Lee follows without any prompting.

Lee tries to keep at a distance but Alexis has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lee fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josue Lee. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Alexis lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Lee or not.

Lee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Alexis closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lee quickly recovers to half guard.
Lee wants to control but Alexis is keeping busy.

Alexis postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Lee to stand up.

Alexis feints and as Lee raises his hands in defense, Alexis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Alexis wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.

Lee is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Alexis defends well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Alexis content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Juan Alexis has got the better of the ground game so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alexis not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Juan Alexis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Alexis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Juan Alexis hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Alexis closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Alexis lands in his opponent's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alexis controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Lee might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Alexis looking to sit in guard and control but Lee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Alexis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Alexis is still trying to improve position.
Lee throws a big right hand that misses.
Lee with a flurry of punches that miss.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lee throws a strike but Alexis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Alexis wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position.
Josue Lee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Juan Alexis is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lee working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alexis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alexis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well Alexis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
