Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Forrest Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denard Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin comes into the arena with Killing In The Name blaring out of the sound system. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Roberts and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Griffin misses with a series of wild punches.
Griffin scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Black has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Griffin connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Denard Black has been cut.
Black lands a jab.
Griffin throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Black counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Oooooh!!! Black has knocked Griffin down with a huge combo! Black steps away and waves a wobbly Griffin back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Forrest Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Black takes a swing at Griffin's ribcage but misses.
Black steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Griffin.
Black thows a left - swing and a miss!
Black lands a slapping body shot.
Griffin thows a body shot but no joy.

The fighters circling - Griffin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Griffin's jab looks to have found its range, popping Black under the eye.

Black is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Griffin has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Griffin goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Black has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Griffin but great work by Black.
Black stands up.
Black takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Black throws a series of punches but Griffin moves out of range.
Black misses with a wild combination.
Griffin misses with a straight right.
Griffin stuns Black with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Griffin jabs Black to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Griffin throws a big shot that misses.
Griffin takes one to the chin there.
Griffin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Griffin throws a right and a left that Black avoids nicely.
Black avoids the head kick by Griffin.
Black fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Griffin looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Griffin lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Griffin.

Griffin connects with a looping right hand.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Griffin throws a combination that misses
and Black connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Black will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Griffin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Black.
Griffin slips under a jab from Black.
Griffin gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Black counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Griffin tries to land a front kick but Black steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Griffin lands with a hook. Black tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Griffin blocks a jab.
Griffin tries to bum rush Black with a series of wild strikes but Black uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Griffin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Forrest Griffin will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Denard Black's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Griffin takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Black!
Black throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Black works over Griffin's head and body with a nice combination.

Griffin throws a nice looking combination but Black bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Black throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Griffin stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Griffin loads up on a big right hand but Black slips the punch.
Griffin is looking to slow Black down with leg kicks.
Black clobbers Griffin with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Griffin takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Black throws a big shot that misses.

and Black counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Griffin thinking.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Black pounces like a tiger and cracks Griffin with a vicious hook! Griffin is down but not out! Black follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
