Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Glen Starner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Roman Yakimyuk!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Steve Montenegro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yakimyuk circles away from the clinch attempt.
Yakimyuk keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Yakimyuk looks to land a body kick but Starner moved away.
Starner moves out of range as Yakimyuk strikes.
Starner misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Yakimyuk tries to move into range but Starner moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Starner swings for the body but Yakimyuk moves out of range.
Yakimyuk connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Starner lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Yakimyuk at a distance.
Starner throws a hook but Yakimyuk avoids it easily.
Yakimyuk stuns Starner with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Yakimyuk throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Starner seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Yakimyuk, right into the meat.

It looks like Roman Yakimyuk has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Yakimyuk connects with a good right hand that stumbles Starner. Starner circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Starner fails to land with a series of punches.

Starner scores with a takedown into Yakimyuk's guard.
Yakimyuk is looking to stand up but Starner isn't so interested in that idea.
Starner working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Yakimyuk's head.
Starner postures up in Yakimyuk's guard and throws a big left but Yakimyuk blocks it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Yakimyuk has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Starner is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Starner jumps guard and drags Yakimyuk to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Yakimyuk wants to stand but Starner has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Starner looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yakimyuk is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Good leg kick by Yakimyuk there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Glen Starner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Starner is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Yakimyuk's half guard.
Yakimyuk tries to kick Starner off but Starner keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Starner is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yakimyuk is just riding it out for now. Starner eventually gives up the hold.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Yakimyuk enables Starner to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Yakimyuk manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Starner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Yakimyuk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters circling - Yakimyuk throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Starner takes one on the button.
Yakimyuk tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Starner manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Yakimyuk fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Starner manages to avoid it.
Starner throws a jab when Yakimyuk was well out of range.
Yakimyuk fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Starner.
Starner looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Starner with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Yakimyuk to score with a decent uppercut.
Starner misses with a takedown attempt - Yakimyuk sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Glen Starner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Starner closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Starner stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Yakimyuk.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yakimyuk sizes up Starner with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Yakimyuk wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Nice uppercut lands for Yakimyuk. That snapped Starner's head back.
Yakimyuk takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


Starner is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Starner is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Yakimyuk.
Oh Starner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Yakimyuk throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Starner sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Starner seems to have got his legs back now.
Yakimyuk showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Starner.

And that's the end of the fight!
Roman Yakimyuk comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Yakimyuk has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
