PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Masutatsu Oyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Askren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oyama's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, World Order - Permanent Revolution. Askren has chosen Kanye West-Stronger as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Askren tries to score a power double leg takedown but Oyama sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Askren somewhat. Askren drops his hands for a split second and Oyama immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Askren face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Oyama follows up with a right hand that knocks Askren into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Masutatsu Oyama! After winning the bout, Masutatsu Oyama thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
