The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Towns misses with a few strikes there.
Towns takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
It looks like Mertsi Peltola has been cut.
Peltola shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Towns is trying to defend but Peltola finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Peltola has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Towns is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Peltola.

Peltola has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Towns clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Towns throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The crowd cheers as Peltola lands an impressive looking overhand right. Towns doesn't seem phased though.

Peltola takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Peltola connects with a nice short shot to Towns's temple.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
