Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aron Higgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elijah Lambert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lambert is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Who Do You Love- YG Ft. Drake. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lambert misses with a takedown attempt
and Higgins moves into the clinch.
Higgins has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lambert avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Lambert is working for takedown but Higgins is calmly controlling the position for now.
Higgins has had enough of the clinch but Lambert keeps him there for the moment.

Higgins has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Lambert is trying to keep an underhook but Higgins manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

and Higgins counters with a series of strikes. Lambert will be more careful next time no doubt.
Higgins throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lambert was covering up waiting for the punch and Higgins finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Lambert is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Higgins defends well.

Lambert has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Higgins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Higgins stands and steps away. Lambert gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Lambert jabs Higgins to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Lambert tries to close the distance and clinch but Higgins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Higgins jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lambert walks away with a smile on his face. Higgins gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Lambert has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Higgins is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Lambert rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Higgins moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Higgins drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Lambert tries to improve position but can't.
Lambert can't do much from the bottom here.
Higgins in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Lambert is trying to work for a sweep but Higgins has mounted him!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Higgins stands up from mount. Strange move.

Higgins stuffs the takedown.
Aron Higgins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Elijah Lambert.
Lambert is breathing heavily.
Lambert tries a head kick but it misses.
Lambert fails to land the takedown.

The fight stays on the outside here - Higgins looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Higgins shoots in looking for a takedown but Lambert manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Higgins's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lambert shoots in looking for a takedown. Higgins tries to sprawl out of it but Lambert keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Higgins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lambert goes for a double leg but Higgins avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Higgins continues to drive forward.

Higgins escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Higgins shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Higgins was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Higgins remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Lambert tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

That's time! Higgins's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Lambert moves in looking to clinch but Higgins pushes him off.

and Higgins counters by clinching up.

Lambert is trying to pull guard but Higgins turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Higgins tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Higgins breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lambert tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Higgins manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Higgins blocks a head kick by Lambert.
Lambert closes the distance but Higgins moves to the side
and Higgins counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lambert's guard now.

Lambert wants to sweep but no luck.
Higgins postures up.
Higgins is working Lambert over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Higgins drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Higgins jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lambert trying to keep a closed guard but Higgins is proving a slippery customer.
Lambert has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Higgins has passed into side control.
Lambert takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lambert is desperately trying to improve his position but Higgins has a good base and remains in mount.
Higgins trying to control but Lambert is having none of it.
Higgins controlling his opponent.

Higgins is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Lambert gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Higgins, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
