Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Byron Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rosco P Coltrane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nelson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Kanye West feat Chief Keef, Pusha T, Jadakiss, Big Sean - I Don't Like. Coltrane comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bleed kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Byron Nelson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Rosco P Coltrane! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coltrane tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nelson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Coltrane misses the shot to the body. Nelson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Coltrane looks to land a right hand but Nelson moved out of range. Nelson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Coltrane. Nelson throws a hook but Coltrane blocks it. A swing and a miss from Nelson. Coltrane scores with a hook. Coltrane lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Nelson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Coltrane. Nelson throws a leg kick but Coltrane sees it coming and moves out of range. Coltrane misses the shot to the body. Coltrane takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Nelson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Coltrane under the eye. Nelson looks to land a left hand but Coltrane moved out of range nicely. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A jab from Coltrane finds it's way through Nelson's defenses. Nelson lands a nice hook to Coltrane's body. Coltrane takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Nelson ducks under a wild hook from Coltrane.

and Nelson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Nelson postures up in Coltrane's guard and throws a big left but Coltrane blocks it. Nelson throwing strikes but missing. Nelson passes into half guard. Nelson is pressing down on Coltrane's thigh, looking to free his foot. Coltrane is holding on for now. Nelson not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nelson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Nelson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Nelson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Coltrane's head. Coltrane avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nelson. Nelson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Coltrane doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Nelson. Nelson missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Coltrane keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Coltrane is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Nelson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Nelson's back! Nelson is really stuck here.
Nelson is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Cozad MMA LA Elite, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Nelson is working hard here to advance position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Coltrane just misses with a elbow thrown towards Nelson's brow. Coltrane creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. A short right from Nelson on the inside. Nelson swings wildly with an uppercut but Coltrane uses good head movement to avoid it. Nelson scores with an uppercut up the middle. Nelson lands a left hand.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice elbow from Coltrane. Coltrane comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
It looks like Byron Nelson has been cut. Nelson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nelson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Nelson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Nelson is really struggling to control Coltrane but he's trying to hold on to the position. Coltrane works a leg free and moves into half guard. Nelson is trying to get back to full guard.

Coltrane seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Nelson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nelson preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Nelson wants to improve his position but Coltrane is controlling well.

Nelson throws a jab but it's blocked by Coltrane. Nelson connects with a solid leg kick. Coltrane ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nelson moves away. Coltrane throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Good standup being displayed there by Nelson as he connects with a hook. Coltrane takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Nelson throws a shot from downtown. Coltrane moves away and avoids it. Nelson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Byron Nelson is winning the standup battle so far. Coltrane avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Coltrane checks a low kick from Nelson. Coltrane throws a lazy uppercut
and Nelson counters with a takedown into side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nelson tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Coltrane tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nelson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nelson in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Coltrane is trying to get back to half guard. Coltrane is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Coltrane is not content to let Nelson control the position. Coltrane is trying to control Nelson's posture but Nelson avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nelson just content to control the position. Coltrane is not content to let Nelson control the position. Byron Nelson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. An elbow from Nelson crashes against the mat.

Coltrane is not content to let Nelson control the position. Rosco P Coltrane has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! You can see the frustration on Coltrane's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nelson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nelson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that's the end of the fight! Byron Nelson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Nelson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
