Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kay Yak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Muhammed Lawal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Muhammed Lawal is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kay Yak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Muhammed Lawal!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yak connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lawal momentarily.


It looks like Muhammed Lawal has been cut.
Lawal throws a head kick but Yak moves out of range.
Yak connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Lawal momentarily.
Lawal fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Yak is out of range.
Lawal throws a solid leg kick but Yak takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Lawal.
Yak throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lawal.
Yak throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lawal on the side of the head.
Yak lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Yak throws a right hand that Lawal ducks under and follows up with a left that Lawal also avoids with ease.
A decent looking cross lands there for Yak.
Lawal lands with a kick to the temple. Yak shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"


It looks like Kay Yak has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yak checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Lawal looks to throw the jab but Yak is out of range.
Yak seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Yak scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Yak scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Yak swinging wildly here.
Lawal is looking to chop away at Yak's legs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yak throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lawal throws a series of punches but Yak avoids them all with ease.

Lawal darts in and clinches Yak up against the cage.

Lawal breaks the clinch.
Lawal has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Lawal closes this distance looking for a takedown but Yak circles away.
Yak lands with a cross.
Lawal shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Lawal looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Yak tries to kick Lawal off but Lawal keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Lawal decides to stand up.
This has been an exciting period of action!
No joy there for Yak, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Yak keeps the fight on the outside.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yak thuds his right hand into Lawal's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Yak misses with a wild combination.
Yak looks to land a combination. Lawal sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


Lawal is rocked!
Lawal throws a sloppy head kick and Yak moves out of range easily.
Yak lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Lawal is still on wobbly legs! Can Yak finish him?
Lawal backs away from a small jab... but Yak lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Lawal crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Yak with a spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Kay Yak!
An out of breath Kay Yak thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
