Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rauno Tynkkynen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kenny Powers! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Powers misses with a lunging right hand
and Tynkkynen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Powers lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A slow jab from Powers misses its intended target. A telegraphed right hand from Powers misses the target. Tynkkynen has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Holding Cell in the buildup to the fight. Powers misses with an uppercut. Powers checks a leg kick nicely. Powers scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
It looks like Rauno Tynkkynen has been cut. Powers staying out of range there. Powers connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Tynkkynen momentarily.

Tynkkynen attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Tynkkynen defending well as Powers loads up on a big left hand. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Powers throws a jab when Tynkkynen was well out of range. Powers will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Powers scores with a hook to the body. Tynkkynen takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice straight punches there by Powers. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Powers. Powers misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Tynkkynen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Tynkkynen doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Tynkkynen avoids the body shot from Powers.
Tynkkynen takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Powers lands a nice hook to Tynkkynen's body. Tynkkynen takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Powers fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nice uppercut lands for Tynkkynen. That snapped Powers's head back.
Powers fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tynkkynen manages to avoid it. Nice defenses there by Tynkkynen. Tynkkynen cracks Powers with an uppercut from hell and Powers crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Tynkkynen's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Powers is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Tynkkynen stands up and waves to Powers to follow him. Powers is still on wobbly legs! Can Tynkkynen finish him? Tynkkynen gets a big slam - oh, Powers is out! Powers is out! That's a nasty KO!
