Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hector Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takihashi Ono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Takihashi Ono!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ono shoots for a double leg takedown but Diaz sprawls well. He's pushed Ono's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ono wants to pass to mount but Diaz is defending the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ono uses his free foot to push down on Diaz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Diaz.
Diaz is trying desperately to improve position.

Diaz wants to hold on but Ono pushes him away.

Ono is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Diaz is in real trouble.

You can see the frustration on Diaz's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Despite being in the dominant position, Takihashi Ono just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Diaz fails with the takedown

and Ono decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Diaz's guard.

Diaz throws his legs up looking for a submission but Ono uses it to pass to side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Ono landing strikes.

Ono stands up.

Ono scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Ono counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Diaz's guard now.

Ono decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Diaz tries to grapple but his opponent circles

The referee asks Ono politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ono prefers to stall for the moment though.
Diaz manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Ono is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Diaz's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Diaz's back!
Ono has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Diaz.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ono doesn't have the hooks in and Diaz manages to turn into his guard.

Ono is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Diaz can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Diaz has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ono is working away from the top position though.

Ono is nestled in close to Diaz, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Ono's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Ono moves into full mount! Diaz won't be happy about that!

Ono quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Ono but it's paid off an Diaz is forced to tap! Nice work by Ono.
