Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sterling Flores!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, KaiaK Rodrigues!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigues misses with a few strikes there.
Flores misses with a takedown attempt - Rodrigues sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Flores is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Flores shoots in but no luck this time.
Rodrigues scores with the left hand. Flores knows he should have avoided that one.
The fight stays on the outside here - Flores looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Rodrigues is trying to push Flores away but Flores has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Rodrigues breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Flores tries to clinch there but Rodrigues circles away.
Rodrigues tries a head kick but it misses.
Rodrigues paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Flores tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rodrigues swats him away and circles back towards the center.
KaiaK Rodrigues is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Flores looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sterling Flores. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rodrigues throws a quick inside leg kick.
Rodrigues drops Flores with a right and a left! Rodrigues comes rushing in but Flores regains his composure and manages to keep Rodrigues in guard.
It looks like Sterling Flores has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rodrigues wants to stand and escape but instead Flores has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Rodrigues wants to get back to his feet but Flores passes into half guard.
Flores lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Rodrigues has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Forca Terrestre Academy $50 fee. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Flores could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Flores seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Rodrigues is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Flores has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Rodrigues is tapping! This fight is all over!
