Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nathaniel Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caique Mafra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mafra comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sail - Awolnation kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Caique Mafra is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mafra has his takedown stuffed

so Armstrong counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Mafra is looking for a triangle but Armstrong pushes his legs off easily.
Armstrong slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Nathaniel Armstrong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Caique Mafra.

Mafra escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Armstrong gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Armstrong decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mafra, up you get!

Armstrong wants to work for an arm triangle but Mafra is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Armstrong in particular looking to stall.

Armstrong is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mafra is just riding it out for now. Armstrong eventually gives up the hold.

Armstrong perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Armstrong seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mafra for as long as he can get away with.
