Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joe Congo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lorenzo Mafra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mafra has chosen Nem vem que não tem - Wilson Simonal as his entrance music. Lorenzo Mafra will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joe Congo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lorenzo Mafra! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mafra shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Congo as he avoids it easily. Congo stuffs the takedown. Mafra defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Congo. Mafra tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Congo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Mafra shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Congo as he jumps to the side. Joe Congo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lorenzo Mafra. Congo instigates a clinch. Congo is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Mafra is defending well against a takedown attempt. Congo leaning his opponent against the cage. Mafra slows down the pace here.
Congo wants to take the fight to the mat but Mafra manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mafra successfully pulls guard.
Mafra preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Congo postures up and lands a big shot to Mafra's brow. Mafra throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Mafra looking for a guillotine here but Congo defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Congo wanted to stand there but Mafra had control of the position. Congo trying to control the position from guard on top but Mafra is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Congo stays in close to Mafra's body and controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Congo postures up.

Congo scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Mafra has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Congo has passed into side control.
Congo throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. This has been an exciting period of action! Mafra takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Mafra is rocked! Congo tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Mafra is still in real trouble! Can Congo finish him?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Congo lands a nice forearm strike. Mafra tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Congo presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Congo working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Mafra looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Congo! Submission of the night perhaps?
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Joe Congo! In defeat, Lorenzo Mafra stepped up to the mic, saying 'shut up nigga'.
