Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Toby Norman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Adam Barton! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ouch! a nice leg kick from Norman, right into the meat.
A head kick misses from Barton. Norman throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Barton tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Norman is in Barton's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Norman accidentally thumps the mat. That's one minute gone in the round. Barton keeps trying to improve his position. Norman throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Barton works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Barton tries to land a sweep but no joy. Norman throwing strikes but missing. Norman throwing strikes from guard but Barton blocks nicely. Norman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Norman landing some decent shots from guard. Norman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Norman stops Barton from standing up. Norman is looking to work some ground and pound but Barton has wrist control. Norman lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Barton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Norman manages to get himself to full guard.
Norman is looking to stand up but Barton isn't so interested in that idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barton wants to control from the top but Norman keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Adam Barton was stalling too much, according to the referee. Norman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Norman throwing shots but Barton is blocking nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Norman not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Norman is thwarting Barton's attempts to control the position. Norman winds up and cracks Barton with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Barton looking for submissions off his back. Barton looks winded! Ground and pound from Norman. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Norman is thwarting Barton's attempts to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Toby Norman dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Barton has his takedown stuffed and Norman counters with a three punch combo that has Barton backing up. Barton nods at Norman to acknowledge the strikes. Barton misses with a kick to the body and Norman counters with a leg kick. Adam Barton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Norman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Barton sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Norman somewhat. Norman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Barton but Barton pushes him off and we're back to square one. Barton takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Norman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Barton is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Norman is tapping! Great win for Barton!
