Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Micah Zimbleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert McDermott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robert McDermott will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Micah Zimbleman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert McDermott! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Ben Hemmingworth and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zimbleman tries to clinch there but McDermott circles away.
McDermott scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Zimbleman fails to land the takedown. Zimbleman clinches up with McDermott and pushes him back against the cage. McDermott managing to block the knees to the body from Zimbleman.
McDermott has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Zimbleman avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Zimbleman is trying to drag McDermott to the mat but McDermott just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. McDermott turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and McDermott manages to end up in side control. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Zimbleman manages to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Zimbleman keeps control of the position for the meantime. Zimbleman wants to control but McDermott is keeping busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. McDermott is taking a breather. Zimbleman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The fighters are battling for position here. Zimbleman manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Zimbleman is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Zimbleman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McDermott controls the pace. Zimbleman trying to strike off his back.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Robert McDermott was stalling too much, according to the referee. Zimbleman fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micah Zimbleman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice takedown defense from Zimbleman. No joy for McDermott on that attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zimbleman displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from McDermott. A telegraphed takedown attempt from McDermott is defended easily by Zimbleman. McDermott defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Zimbleman. Zimbleman lands with a nice combination. McDermott backs away looking to recover. Zimbleman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McDermott paws at him with a jab and circles away. McDermott misses with a takedown attempt - Zimbleman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. McDermott cracks Zimbleman with an open hand slap. Zimbleman tries to clinch but fails miserably and McDermott counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Zimbleman stuffs the takedown attempt from McDermott. McDermott gets slowly back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Horrible takedown by McDermott or perhaps it was just good defense by Zimbleman which made him look bad. Zimbleman wants to clinch. McDermott fails with the takedown. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McDermott keeps the fight on the outside. McDermott shoots in looking for a takedown but Zimbleman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McDermott's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Zimbleman fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Zimbleman dives in for a single leg takedown but McDermott sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Zimbleman is breathing heavily. McDermott goes for a takedown attempt but Zimbleman pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

That was a close round but I would say that Micah Zimbleman will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

McDermott closes this distance looking for a takedown but Zimbleman circles away. Zimbleman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Zimbleman misses with a takedown attempt - McDermott sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. McDermott swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Zimbleman. Zimbleman fails with an attempt to clinch.
Robert McDermott seems to be getting the better of the standup. Zimbleman lands with a kick to the ribs.
McDermott fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Micah Zimbleman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert McDermott. Zimbleman is trying hard to land a takedown here. McDermott sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

McDermott keeping moving, preventing Zimbleman from controlling successfully. McDermott is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zimbleman wants to control from the top but McDermott keeps moving. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. McDermott wants to stand but Zimbleman is controlling the position.

McDermott misses with a takedown attempt - Zimbleman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Zimbleman stuffs the takedown. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McDermott shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Zimbleman pinned against the cage. Zimbleman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. McDermott stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McDermott wants it to stay on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Micah Zimbleman dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
No luck for McDermott with that takedown attempt. McDermott closes the distance and clinches up with Zimbleman, looking for a takedown. McDermott pushes Zimbleman against the cage but Zimbleman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Zimbleman tries to score a power double leg takedown but McDermott sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Zimbleman somewhat. Zimbleman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Zimbleman moves into the clinch successfully.
Zimbleman throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but McDermott blocks it with crossed arms. Zimbleman drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micah Zimbleman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Zimbleman pulls guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. McDermott controlling from the top position. Zimbleman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst McDermott is controlling him. Zimbleman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Zimbleman looking to hit a scissor sweep but McDermott is one step ahead there. McDermott won't allow Zimbleman to get back to his feet. McDermott tries to free his leg and advance position but Zimbleman is retaining full guard. McDermott is stalling in the full guard. Robert McDermott has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Robert McDermott hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. McDermott shoots in looking for a takedown but Zimbleman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McDermott's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Horrible takedown by McDermott or perhaps it was just good defense by Zimbleman which made him look bad. McDermott shoots in for a takedown but Zimbleman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. McDermott fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Zimbleman, pushing him back against the cage. Zimbleman tries to work over McDermott's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Zimbleman has a couple of punches blocked by McDermott.
Zimbleman wants the takedown. McDermott is fighting it off but Zimbleman persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in McDermott's guard against the cage. Zimbleman trying to move into half guard but instead McDermott has managed to sweep! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McDermott is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zimbleman wants to stand but McDermott is controlling the position. McDermott controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. McDermott throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Zimbleman works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Micah Zimbleman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Zimbleman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McDermott controls the pace. Zimbleman is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Micah Zimbleman has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. McDermott will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. McDermott shoots in for a takedown but Zimbleman shows good takedown defense. Zimbleman takes a swing at McDermott's ribcage but misses. Zimbleman takes the fight into the clinch. Zimbleman tries for a takedown but McDermott manages to get underhooks.
McDermott lands with a right to the head. Zimbleman tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. McDermott drops down looking for an ankle pick but Zimbleman pulls his leg out and moves away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. McDermott stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Micah Zimbleman. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Zimbleman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
