Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Walter Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krzysztof Kowalczyk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kowalczyk's choice of entrance music: I Stand Alone. Krzysztof Kowalczyk is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Walter Black! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Krzysztof Kowalczyk! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Columbo Gatti and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big right from Kowalczyk misses. No luck for Black with that takedown attempt. A jab lands there for Kowalczyk. Kowalczyk dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Black throws a poor cross that misses
and Kowalczyk counters with a lovely straight right hand! Kowalczyk clobbers Black with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
It looks like Walter Black has been cut. Kowalczyk connects with a nice looking jab.
Kowalczyk throws a right and a left that both miss. Black takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Black throws a hook but Kowalczyk blocks it. Kowalczyk fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Black looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Horrible takedown by Black or perhaps it was just good defense by Kowalczyk which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Walter Black. That's going to take a lot out of him. Black throws a lazy uppercut
and Kowalczyk counters with a stiff right hand. Kowalczyk dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Black tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kowalczyk defends well and Black ends up having to push Kowalczyk into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Black prevents Kowalczyk from breaking the clinch. Kowalczyk is trying to break the clinch but Black is controlling him. Come on Black - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Black breaks the clinch.
Black shoots in for a takedown but Kowalczyk shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. A punch combination from Kowalczyk misses. Black gets a takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Kowalczyk has hold of Black's hands but Black slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Black working over Kowalczyk with some ground and pound. Kowalczyk looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kowalczyk avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Black. Nice strikes from Black there. Black throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Black perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Black thows a huge punch but Kowalczyk dodges it nicely.
Kowalczyk has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Black is working away from the top position though. Black with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kowalczyk throws a good cross that connects.

Kowalczyk has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. Kowalczyk throws a series of punches but Black moves out of range. Kowalczyk is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Black had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Black missing with a left hand there. Kowalczyk was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Black misses with a wild body shot. Kowalczyk slaps away a takedown attempt from Black, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kowalczyk misses with a two punch combination.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kowalczyk misses with the combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Walter Black will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Walter Black's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

It looks like Krzysztof Kowalczyk has been cut. Kowalczyk scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Kowalczyk throws a right hand that Black ducks under and follows up with a left that Black also avoids with ease. Kowalczyk misses with a few strikes there.
Krzysztof Kowalczyk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Black misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kowalczyk.
Krzysztof Kowalczyk seems to be getting the better of the standup. Black shoots in and drives through. Kowalczyk sprawls well. Kowalczyk scores with a hook to the body. Black takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Kowalczyk displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kowalczyk swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Black throws a right hand that misses
and Kowalczyk counters with a one-two to the body. Kowalczyk feints a jab promting Black to slip. Kowalczyk then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Black slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Black tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kowalczyk sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Black somewhat. Black misses with an uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kowalczyk uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Black.
Black drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Black postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kowalczyk tries to get back to half guard but can't. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Check out the look on Black's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Kowalczyk is rocked! Black scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Kowalczyk is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Black can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Walter Black!
