Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricardo Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, Lance Storm! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Eddie Farnsworth and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva fails with the takedown. Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Storm pinned against the cage. Storm gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Storm's guard. Storm is pulling down on Silva's head to control his posture. Storm working a defensive guard here.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Silva's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Storm wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it. Silva pushing down on Storm's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Storm is trying to stand.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva takes a kick to the side of the head. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Storm throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Storm throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Storm moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off. Silva blocks a head kick by Storm.
Storm tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Storm has closed the distance and engaged Silva in a clinch.

Storm is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Silva on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricardo Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him. Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Storm sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Storm moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Silva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Storm sprawls well initially but Silva persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Silva lands strikes from half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lance Storm dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but Storm sprawls well. He's pushed Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Storm as he jumps to the side. Storm stuffs the takedown attempt from Silva. Silva gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricardo Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him. Oooh a lovely combination from Storm sends Silva down but not out. Storm dives into side control looking to finish.

It looks like Ricardo Silva has been cut. Storm working the ground and pound. Oh Silva is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Storm just content to control the position. Silva takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Storm scores with punches from side control. Silva seems to have got his legs back now. Storm controls the position. Storm trying to control the action but Silva is working from the bottom. Storm cracks Silva with a big right hand but Silva just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Silva gets full guard. Storm throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Storm must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Storm trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Silva has his foot on Storm's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Storm works his way back into a safe position though.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Storm accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Silva is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
