Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jordon Sanford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Sonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sonnen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sanford as he jumps to the side.

Sanford gets a double leg takedown into Sonnen's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Sanford with a flurry of punches that miss.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sonnen keeping moving, preventing Sanford from controlling successfully.
Sonnen wants to stand but Sanford is controlling the position.
Sanford is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jordon Sanford wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Sanford looks to clinch
letting Sonnen counter with a right hand.
Sonnen misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sanford.

Sonnen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sanford.

Sanford has Sonnen up against the cage in a clinch.
Sonnen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sanford keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sonnen's efforts to push away.
Sonnen wants to break free but Sanford has control.
Sanford tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sonnen smiles and moves away.
Sonnen throws a right hand that Sanford ducks under and follows up with a left that Sanford also avoids with ease.
Sonnen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Sanford tries for a takedown but Sonnen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Sanford throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Sanford shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sonnen sprawls well. Sonnen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sanford gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jordon Sanford. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sonnen lands the left hand.
Sonnen lands a lovely overhand right.
Sanford tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Sonnen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sanford looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sanford changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sonnen tries to avoid it but Sanford manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sonnen to the ground. Sonnen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sonnen lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Sanford goes down and covers up as Sonnen starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
