Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sam B Glenn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergey Dorokhov! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Glenn closes the distance and lands a one-two. Glenn throws a body punch but Dorokhov moves out of range. Dorokhov closes the distance and lands a one-two. Glenn changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dorokhov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Glenn trying to control the action but Dorokhov is working from the bottom. Dorokhov prevents Glenn from improving position. Glenn trying to control the action but Dorokhov is working from the bottom. Glenn wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dorokhov, who protects the arm well. Glenn has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dorokhov holding on. Glenn is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dorokhov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Glenn is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dorokhov knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Dorokhov avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Glenn. Dorokhov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Glenn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dorokhov stops Glenn from passing to mount. Dorokhov is not content to let Glenn control the position. Glenn sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Dorokhov is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Glenn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Glenn looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Glenn is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dorokhov has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dorokhov is trying to escape the position but Glenn is controlling the position. Glenn swings around for an armbar but Dorokhov sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Glenn's guard. Dorokhov slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Dorokhov has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Glenn is proving hard to escape from. Glenn is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Dorokhov frees his head nicely. Oh but Glenn has switched to an armbar! Dorokhov is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
