Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rod Boone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Cuevas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fred Cuevas has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Rod Boone's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cuevas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Boone was well out of range. Poor timing from Cuevas.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cuevas fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Boone avoids it really well and circles away.
No joy there for Cuevas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Cuevas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cuevas tries to bum rush Boone with a series of wild strikes but Boone uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Cuevas makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Boone really felt that one!

Cuevas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Boone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Cuevas is just content to waste time from the top position. Boone takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Boone is on top in guard.
Cuevas wants to stand and escape but Boone is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's time! Boone's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Cuevas tightens his grip and picks Boone up, before dumping him to the ground. Boone manages to land in guard.

Cuevas moves into the clinch.

Boone has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Cuevas regains guard immediately.

Boone drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Boone jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
