Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Larsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Shillings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Larsen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brandon Shillings! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shillings wants to land a leg kick but Larsen is out of range. Larsen blocks a head kick by Shillings.
Larsen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Shillings on his heels. He'll look to pass Shillings's guard now, I'm sure. Larsen advances to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Larsen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shillings does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shillings wants to control but Larsen is keeping busy and won't allow it. Shillings is staying active underneath Larsen, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Larsen passes to full mount! Shillings is squirming around, avoiding Larsen's attempts to control the action. Larsen in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Shillings really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Larsen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Larsen looking to ground and pound but Shillings is blocking nicely. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Shillings in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Michael Larsen has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Larsen shoots for a takedown but Shillings saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Larsen clinches up with Shillings and pushes him back against the cage. Larsen tries to pull guard but Shillings forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Larsen tries to break the clinch but Shillings is controlling the position.

Shillings stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Larsen is looking to control Shillings's arms but Shillings gets an underhook and turns him. Now Larsen has his back to the cage. Shillings escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shillings trying to control the position here. Larsen controlling from the top position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Larsen wants to stand but Shillings has a closed guard, so he can't escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Larsen shoots in but Shillings avoids the takedown attempt easily. Larsen is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Shillings got a little sloppy there for a moment and Larsen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shillings can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Shillings must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Shillings tries to stand but Larsen is controlling from the bottom. Shillings missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Larsen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shillings doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shillings manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Larsen has a closed guard, preventing Shillings from standing up. Larsen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Shillings wants to control from the top but Larsen keeps moving. Larsen is trying to control the position but Shillings postures up. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Shillings pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Larsen is keeping the position for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Brandon Shillings. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Larsen. No luck with that takedown attempt from Larsen. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Michael Larsen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Shillings goes for a double leg but Larsen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Larsen continues to drive forward. Larsen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Shillings is looking to take this fight into the clinch. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Shillings fails with the takedown. Nice takedown defense from Shillings. No joy for Larsen on that attempt. Larsen leaves Shillings with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Larsen tries to clinch up but Shillings circles away and keeps his distance. Larsen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shillings sprawls well. Shillings wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Larsen gets slowly back to his feet. Larsen gets tackled into the cage by Shillings. Shillings maintains the clinch.
