Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jere Coffey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James jb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James jb has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jere Coffey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James jb!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
jb takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
jb circles away from the clinch attempt.
jb wants to clinch up but Coffey keeps it at a distance.
jb tries to close the distance and clinch but Coffey swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Coffey dodges the punch combination from jb.
Coffey moves to clinch but jb breaks away
and jb counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Coffey thinking.

Coffey has closed the distance and engaged jb in a clinch.
Coffey really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

jb has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Coffey is trying to keep an underhook but jb manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Coffey is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
jb not doing much here.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by James jb.

jb closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - jb lands in his opponent's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
jb trying to control the position from guard on top but Coffey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
jb passes Coffey's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
jb wants to pass the guard but Coffey is defending well.
jb seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

jb seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Coffey does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. James jb hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

jb throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Coffey tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. jb is in Coffey's guard.

Coffey gets caught flat footed, as jb shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
jb lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
jb won't allow Coffey to sweep him here.
jb working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Coffey's head.

James jb dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



jb fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Coffey sprawls well initially but jb persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
jb lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Coffey wants to improve his position but jb is controlling well.

jb decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Coffey enables jb to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Coffey manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Coffey looking to hit a scissor sweep but jb is one step ahead there.
jb sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
jb wants to control from the top but Coffey keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by James jb.
jb swats away the attempt to clinch by Coffey.

Coffey tries to sprawl but jb drives through with a takedown into half guard.

jb controlling the action here.

jb is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Coffey manages to get to full guard.

Coffey is striking off his back. jb thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
jb seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

jb seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Coffey does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
jb blocks the strikes from Coffey.

The ref stands the fighters back up. James jb was stalling too much, according to the referee.

jb gets a takedown into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Coffey tries to roll over but jb keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James jb showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Coffey keeps the fight on the outside.

jb drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

jb working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

jb stands up and beckons Coffey to his feet.

jb fails in his attempt to clinch.
Jere Coffey is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Coffey clinches up against the cage.

Coffey drags the fight down to the ground.
Coffey keeping moving, preventing jb from controlling successfully.

jb has gone for a leg lock! Coffey slips out almost immediately though and dives into jb's guard.
James jb has got the better of the ground game so far.
jb trying to keep a closed guard but Coffey is proving a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Coffey cracks jb with a solid left hand.
Coffey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

jb working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Coffey has passed into half guard!
jb is looking to control Coffey's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can jb avoid being mounted?
jb flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

jb manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Coffey keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Coffey has picked jb up - he's going for a ride! Coffey dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
jb trying to control but Coffey postures up.
Coffey thows a huge punch but jb dodges it nicely.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
jb wants to control but Coffey passes into side.
jb takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
You can see the frustration on jb's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Coffey is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but jb is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
jb manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Coffey is working for an americana but jb has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Coffey was thinking about the submission.

Coffey got a little sloppy there for a moment and jb has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Coffey has managed to get both his arms back between jb's legs - danger averted.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

jb is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

And that's the end of the fight!
James jb comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got jb winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
