Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cristopher Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksey Olqynik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cristopher Meyer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksey Olqynik! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Olqynik drives through with a takedown into Meyer's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Olqynik must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Meyer wants to stand but Olqynik is controlling the position. Meyer is controlling Olqynik's posture. Olqynik won't allow Meyer to get back to his feet. Meyer trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Olqynik shoots in from a long way out. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Olqynik wants to pass the guard but Meyer is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Meyer tries to land a sweep but no joy. Olqynik stops Meyer from standing up. Meyer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Meyer thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Meyer has control of Olqynik's left arm, preventing Olqynik from doing any damage. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Cristopher Meyer. Olqynik closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Meyer quickly recovers to half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Aleksey Olqynik was stalling too much, according to the referee. Olqynik shoots in and bounces Meyer off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Meyer holds on and takes a little breather. Olqynik is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Meyer pulls Olqynik in to control the position. Oh, that's bad for Meyer! Meyer is breathing heavily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Olqynik creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Meyer sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Olqynik scoring with punches from side control. Oh Meyer is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Olqynik turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! This has been an exciting period of action! Meyer tries to escape but Olqynik is in control. Meyer prevents Olqynik from moving into mount. Olqynik in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Meyer wants to get back to his feet but Olqynik drags him back down. Olqynik grinds an elbow into Meyer's temple. Olqynik stands up. Olqynik throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Olqynik leaves Meyer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Olqynik scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Olqynik throws a strike aimed at the side of Meyer's head but Meyer avoids it well. Olqynik working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Aleksey Olqynik showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

And that's the end of the fight! Cristopher Meyer showed his dominance in that final round. Well Olqynik has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
