Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Larusso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthoney Pettis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Larusso comes into the arena with You're the best around blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Anthoney Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Larusso fakes the leg kick and cracks Pettis in the body.

Larusso has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Pettis takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Pettis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Pettis on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Larusso will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Larusso on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Larusso tries to get out of the position.

Pettis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Larusso is just riding it out for now. Pettis eventually gives up the hold.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

This has been an exciting period of action!
