Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brant Poole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stewie Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brant Poole! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Stewie Griffin! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Griffin wants to clinch up but Poole keeps it at a distance. Poole circles away from the clinch attempt.
Griffin darts in and clinches Poole up against the cage. Both fighters working to control the clinch. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Poole fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Griffin lands a takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Griffin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Griffin trying to control the position from guard on top but Poole is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Stewie Griffin wasn't active enough on the ground. Griffin looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Poole will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Griffin looking to sit in guard and control but Poole gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Griffin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Griffin is trying to control the position but Poole postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Poole throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Griffin works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Poole throwing strikes but missing. Poole throws a big right hand that misses. Poole decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Griffin closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Griffin lands in his opponent's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Griffin postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin is looking to stand up but Poole won't let him. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Griffin has eaten all the pies! Griffin trying to control but Poole is working from the bottom. Poole is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Brant Poole just wasn't active enough. Griffin scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Griffin manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Poole on his heels. He'll look to pass Poole's guard now, I'm sure. Griffin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Griffin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Poole dodges the punch combination from Griffin.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Griffin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Poole is trying to control Griffin's posture but Griffin avoids it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Poole tries to buck Griffin off but Griffin is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stewie Griffin dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Griffin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Griffin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Griffin tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Poole regains half guard, as Griffin was trying to land strikes. Griffin is trying to control the action in half guard but Poole is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Griffin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Poole defends it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griffin trying to control the action but Poole is working from the bottom. Poole is looking to escape. Poole pushes Griffin off and gets back to his feet. Poole gets tackled into the cage by Griffin. Griffin maintains the clinch. Poole throws a knee to the head but misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Come on Poole - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Poole is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Griffin is defending well for now. Poole is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Griffin to keep the fight standing. Griffin successfully pulls guard.
Griffin working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Poole has passed into half guard!
Griffin is trying to maintain the position but Poole is very close to passing his half guard. Poole wants to stand up but Griffin manages to regain full guard. Poole is in close to Griffin's body, working some short punches and elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Griffin manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Griffin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Poole swats him away and circles back towards the center. Brant Poole is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Griffin clinches. Poole has Griffin pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Griffin manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Griffin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Griffin scores with a one two! Poole had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Griffin clinches with his opponent.
Griffin blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Griffin on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Poole pulls Griffin into guard.
Griffin gets to his feet. Poole looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Poole keeps the fight on the outside. Griffin looking to score a takedown here. Poole is defending well but Griffin drives through and ends up in Poole's guard. Poole looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Griffin puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Griffin keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Griffin is keen to just control but Poole is a slippery customer. Griffin decides to stand up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Stewie Griffin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Poole's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Griffin gets in close and instigates a clinch. Poole looking to stall.
Poole fails to pull guard.
Griffin blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Poole is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Griffin to keep the fight standing. Griffin has hold of one of Poole's legs. Poole is fighting the takedown attempt but Griffin gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Griffin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Poole swivels though and keeps the full guard. Griffin wants to control from the top but Poole keeps moving.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Stewie Griffin hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Poole throws a head kick but Griffin moves out of range.
A chopping leg kick lands by Griffin. Griffin gets the takedown into side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Griffin controlling the position. Griffin goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Poole has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Griffin but great work by Poole.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Griffin takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Griffin regains half guard, as Poole was trying to land strikes. Griffin missing with punches from the bottom.
Griffin is holding on to half guard well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Griffin is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Poole's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Poole's back! Griffin throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage. Poole defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Griffin wants to control but Poole is keeping busy. Griffin thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Will Griffin go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Griffin throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Stewie Griffin has got the better of the ground game so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that's the end of the fight! Stewie Griffin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Griffin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
